- APRAISE Final Conference ??What Role for Targets in EU Climate and Energy Policy? ?? Lessons from the APRAISE Project for Improved Environmental Policy Making
- Brussels, CEPS Conference Room, Belgium
- The conference will highlight that climate and energy policies are not formulated within an isolated policy context but implemented in existing (market) systems. Improved understanding of these systems contributes to policy effectiveness and efficiency as it brings to the fore possible policy interactions and mechanisms behind long-term EU-wide targets. The conference will draw on the APRAISE case studies in the area of renewable energy and energy efficiency policies, providing for a better understanding of the mechanisms of environmental policy and thus giving insights into how inefficiencies of environmental policy making can be reduced and target setting on the EU level improved. The APRAISE Final Conference will be structured into three sessions:Session I (morning):Key results of the APRAISE ProjectSession II (morning):Improving renewable energy policy makingSession III (afternoon):Improving energy efficiency policy makingSession IV (afternoon):The contribution of APRAISE to policy coherence
