The Distinguished Humphrey Fellowship Program - - Development Economics is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered through a cooperative agreement with the Institute of International Education, Inc.

This program provides short-term executive level training in development economics as well as strategic networking in the United States for international professionals, in or out of government, who are serving as leaders in advancing the public good, working on issues critical to U.S. engagement with the developing world, and are well-positioned to influence decision-making and policy within their professional focus areas in their countries.

  1. Design and facilitate an executive-level course for 12 participating policy makers and leaders from the developing world in a wide array of professional fields and settings, in and out of government. 2. Arrange for each participant a one-week, individualized strategic networking placement with a U.S. host organization.
  3. Develop a toolkit of resources and materials in the development economics field that participants may access following their participation in the program.

The proposed program should take place in summer/fall 2019 (i.e. between August and December).
