CSWEP Mentoring Breakfasts for Junior Economists

The American Economic Association's Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession (CSWEP) will host two mentoring breakfasts for junior economists in conjunction with the 2023 January AEA/ASSA Meetings.

An in-person junior breakfast will be held during the AEA/ASSA Meetings in New Orleans on Friday, January 6th from 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM CST.

An online junior event will be held on Tuesday, January 10th from 1:00-2:00 PM CST.

The junior mentoring breakfast is for untenured assistant professors or equivalent (approximately 7 years or fewer since Ph.D.) or graduate students on the job market. We welcome mentees of all genders. At these informal meet-and greet-events, senior economists will be on hand to provide mentoring and networking opportunities. Topics covered at the junior mentoring breakfast will include research and publishing, teaching, grant-writing, job search, work-life balance, and the tenure process. Mentees will rotate throughout the event so that they may have the opportunity to connect with multiple mentors.

Junior economists who would like to register for these events should click the corresponding links below to register.
