JOE is updated 10 times per year--at the beginning of February, March, April, May, June, August, September, October, November, and December.

How To Submit a Listing

The deadline to submit and pay for listings is the 15th of the month preceding the update on the 1st of the month (11pm Central Time, Midnight Eastern Time). This is a firm deadline. However, we are now able to offer late listings from the 16th through the 25th of the month preceding the update for an additional charge. No listings past the 25th (11pm Central Time, Midnight Eastern Time) can be accepted.

Charges for listings (per issue) are as follows:
* 200 words or less - $300.00
* Additional increments of 200 words - $300.00 each
* Late listings (16th - 25th of the preceding month) are $600 for 200 words or less & $600 for additional increments of 200 words.
Note: Word count is determined by an automated count of the combined words in the full-text description and application instructions fields; you will see that word count as you are entering the text in those fields before you pay for the listing.

Prepayment of all listings is now required. Before your listing can be placed, you must pay with a major credit card. Listings must be paid for before the deadline in order to be posted. Paypal is our secure credit card processor (no paypal accounts are needed). After you place a listing, editing of that listing will be disabled. Job Listings are for either full-time permanent, full-time temporary or visiting, or part-time (adjunct) for (mostly Ph.D.) economists. Indicate the Section (I-VI) in which your ad should appear:

I. U.S. Academic (Full-Time, Tenured & Tenure Track)
II. U.S. Academic
a) Full-Time Temporary or Visiting
b) Part-Time or Adjunct
III. International (Full-Time, Tenured & Tenure Track)
IV. International - Academic
a) Full-Time Temporary or Visiting
b) Part-Time or Adjunct
V. Nonacademic (Full-Time, Salaried)
VI. Nonacademic (Temporary, Part-Time, Non-salaried, Consulting, etc.)
Listings may encourage applications from either: (a) members of underrepresented groups, or (b) members of groups for which the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and other applicable laws permit preferences in hiring decisions. Listings will require a description of the job including necessary applicant qualifications, the application deadline, appropriate subfield(s), and information on how to apply.
