Statement of Purpose/Status

Statement of Purpose

Across my research projects, price is the unifying theme. In my job market paper, I show how consumer overlap drives predictable stock returns. In my work on storable goods, I analyze price promotions as intertemporal discrimination and quantify their welfare effects. My vertical licensing project examines how royalties shape effective costs and pass-through in coffee markets. In airlines, I study how dominant firms exploit inflation as a pretext for price hikes beyond costs. Finally, my StockX project investigates how double-auction pricing affects efficiency and consumer welfare. Together, my work treats price as both a strategic outcome and a lens for understanding information transmission, market power, and welfare.
