I realized that I desperately need a support network of other junior academic economists. Ideally this would just be an informal group to bounce ideas off one another and safe space where I can air my frustrations. Does such a thing exist? Bumble BFF for Econ? I know the basic answer: befriend your colleagues. For me, the set of those who share similar research interests and are junior economists within my department is an empty set. Plus working-from-home makes casual interactions too infrequent to be really substantive. Any advice or leads for such informal networks?

I do not know of one of the top of my head, but spending several years early in my career in your position I think it is a great idea. LinkedIn would be a good place to start one if you were interested in doing so. I can refer a few people currently on LinkedIn who may be interested in joining such a group.
