I am a pathologist who is absolutely convinced that the dramatic decline in the rate of hospital autopsies (50% in the 1950s, 5% today) is driven by economic factors and not scientific or clinical ones. Is there an economic literature that I could turn to? Are there economists who would be interested in collaborating on such a project? I have a contract to produce a book for Springer, but I need an economist.
