The role of Speechwriter presents an excellent opportunity for a talented communication professional to showcase their skills in crafting and delivering impactful speeches across multiple platforms. This position plays a crucial role in summarizing and disseminating key research findings from ERIA, thereby contributing to the organization's mission and goals.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional abilities in producing clear and engaging speeches that resonate with audiences, while ensuring their messages are consistent and aligned with ERIA’s mission and goal.

This position reports directly to the President, under the strategic direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief of Staff, and other senior management officials.

Key Responsibilities:
1.Speech writing for the President
Develop powerful and engaging speeches for the President that resonate with diverse audiences, including government leaders and ministers, to help ensure that ERIA’s messages are consistently aligned with our mission.
2.Internal Coordination
Encourage effective coordination by collecting and compiling analytical findings from ERIA to craft effective speeches and collaborating seamlessly with the relevant staff of ERIA in order to do so.
3.Additional Duties
Perform other related tasks as assigned by the President, COO, Chief of Staff or other senior management officials.

Qualifications:
1.Advanced degree in English language, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
2.Proven exceptional skills in speech writing and communication.
3.A minimum of 5 years of experience in speech writing. Experience in media relations would be an asset.
4.Familiarity with economic issues in ASEAN and East Asia, along with an understanding of regional working cultures, is strongly preferred.

Language Requirements:
1.Exceptional proficiency in both written and spoken English.
2.Knowledge of additional languages, particularly Asian languages, would be an asset.

Working Conditions and Terms of Employment:

ERIA offers an internationally competitive based on the candidate’s experience and expertise including accommodation and education allowances. Compensation is denominated in US dollars.
2.Term
The appointment is for a fixed term from 1 to 2 years, with the possibility of renewal at a maximum of 5 years in total upon reappointment by the President, depending on performance and the continuation of the budget.
