The LBO is seeking to fill an Economist position as part of their tax expenditure evaluation team. This is a full-time benefits eligible position. The Economist enjoys rewarding work applying statistical and econometric research methods to support the Minnesota Legislature in evaluating tax expenditure policies including, tax credits, tax exemptions, and preferential rates, among other tax incentives.

The full salary range is $91,996 to $166,048. The hiring range typically is between $91,996 and $110,000. The level offered will be based upon an assessment of the candidate’s level of experience.

Minimum Qualifications
• A graduate level degree in applied economics, economics, statistics, public policy or related field
• Graduate coursework in econometrics and statistics
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Non-partisan background and ability to act impartially, in a politically neutral manner.
