The Department of Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks one permanent full-time Teaching Professor/Professor of Practice/Lecturer position starting August 2025. The candidate will primarily be responsible for teaching introductory courses in economic principles and/or business statistics; however, there may be an opportunity to teach upper level undergraduate courses depending on departmental need and candidate expertise. The teaching assignment is 4 courses per term. The position also requires professional engagement, as well as participation in service. These include a variety of activities such as attending meetings, participating in committees, student clubs and career advising, publications, conference attendances, and professional development activities, to name a few. For full consideration, candidates must submit all required materials before April 1st, 2025.
Whitewater is located in southeastern Wisconsin, one hour from Milwaukee and Madison, and two hours from Chicago. UW-Whitewater recently celebrated its sesquicentennial anniversary and has a total enrollment exceeding 10,000 students. The Department of Economics is located within the College of Business and Economics which is the largest AACSB-accredited business school in the state, serving over 3,600 undergraduate and 900 master’s and doctoral-level students.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
M.A. or M.S. in Economics or closely related field
Demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in Economics or closely related field
Accomplished outstanding teacher
Bilingual in English and Spanish
