The Department of Economics at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Economics with a focus on Big Data and Machine Learning.
We are looking for candidates proficient in modern Machine Learning tools working in any of the Applied Microeconomics fields, including health, education, labor, urban, public, environmental economics, industrial organization, and trade. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in Econometrics and Machine Learning, which will enable them to (a) conduct research using advanced Machine Learning techniques to tackle leading research questions in their fields and (b) proficiently teach these methods to undergraduates and master’s students.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses related to data analytics in our undergraduate and STEM-certified MA program, along with other courses, depending on their field of specialization and the needs of the department. They will also conduct research in their field(s) of interest, provide service to the university, and participate in our community.

Qualifications
● A completed Ph.D. degree in Economics at the start of the appointment
● Expertise in applying econometrics, machine learning, and big data techniques to Applied Microeconomic questions
● Potential to publish academic research in leading journals
● A commitment to high-quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and an interest in teaching a diverse student body.
