Transportation Fuels Economist – Two positions available
Research Data Specialist III state classification at California Energy Commission (CEC)

Would it excite you to understand what drives the price at the pump for gasoline in California? Come join our Fuels Analysis Branch as a Transportation Fuels Economist to help provide expertise on a range of fuel related issues. These high-profile roles within the Fuels Analysis – Refining Margins Analysis Unit will both serve as subject matter experts on petroleum markets for the CEC Energy Assessments Division(EAD).

** Telework option available, but hired candidates must reside in California before starting **

Desirable Qualifications:
• Background in economics, especially econometric methods.
• Experience with programing/coding in Python, R, SAS, or similar programs. 
• Building, maintaining, and/or using computational models in analysis.
• Familiarity with econometric analysis and forecasting methods.
• Ability to effectively write, review, and edit technical program information.
