Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Menard Family Initiative (MFI) at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse seeks applicants for our open MFI Researcher position. The Researcher will be asked to help the MFI with student programming and events, lead weekly student discussion groups, and conduct research. Research will include white papers, policy briefs, and other forms of digestible, non-academic research. Research will focus on the local Wisconsin/Midwest region with topics including entrepreneurship, regulatory issues, and financial outcomes centering around the principles of free market and associated institutions. Skill in terms of processing data, performing statistical analysis and translating the numbers into layman’s terms will be valued. Opportunities for collaborative academic research will be available as well. The position will also require teaching undergraduate principles courses in the Economics Department, with the potential to teach upper-level courses such as Political Economy as well. Reviews will start immediately.

Qualifications:

Required:
• Master’s degree or higher in Economics or related field
Preferred:
• Desire to conduct non-academic research
