Full Professors in Finance (2 positions) and Banking (1 position) Assistant Professors (at Brunel called Lecturers) in Economics or Econometrics (2 positions) and in Finance, Banking or Accountancy (2 positions). Positions available from September 1st 2023. Salaries for the Full Professor positions are internationally competitive. Salaries for Lecturers are on a scale to around £54k, depending on qualification and experience.
We welcome candidates in any areas within the five fields, but would particular welcome candidates in Financial Markets and Asset Pricing, the structure and ownership of banks, the history of money and banking and the challenger banking sector, central bank digital currency and the technology of payment systems, macroeconomic modelling and forecasting, economic development, econometrics (theoretical or applied), and topics in sustainability in accountancy and finance.
The Economics and Finance department is a thriving research focused community. The Department is home to more than 50 full-time academics, with research interests spanning Accountancy, Banking, Economics and Finance, over 1300 undergraduate students, and over 300 postgraduate students following taught programmes or undertaken doctoral research. In the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF), 61% of the Department’s research output was rated as World Leading or Internationally Excellent.
