The Department of Economics at Queen’s University invites applications for a Weatherall Postdoctoral Fellowship. This is a one-year fellowship, renewable for a second year, which shall commence on July 1, 2023. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work under the supervision of a host professor in the Department. While we are particularly interested in applicants with research and teaching interests in econometrics, applicants in other fields are also encouraged to apply.

Applicants must either have received their doctorate by July 1, 2023 or expect to do so within six months. Renewal of the appointment for the period July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025 will be conditional on completion of all requirements for the doctoral degree by December 31, 2023.

The Postdoctoral Fellow appointed to this position is expected to reside in Kingston, to be actively involved in the day-to-day life of the Economics Department, and to collaborate in developing research ideas with faculty and students in the Department.

This Postdoctoral Fellowship carries a full-time salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. The incumbent will also be expected to teach at least one course per year and may have the option to teach two, depending on availability. In addition, the Department of Economics will provide resources to cover research expenses. These may include, for example, computer hardware and software, technical books and journals, and travel to conferences.
