The applied research team at CDE consists of economists and data scientists who work collaboratively on analysis that benefits low- and moderate-income communities. CDE aims to be a leading participant in research and policy discussions related to labor market institutions like unemployment insurance, workforce programs, occupational licensing, and restrictive covenants in the labor market.

The Economist will help guide and implement the labor markets research agenda. They will produce research products that include academic journal articles, articles on the Bank website written for multiple audiences, and internal documents to inform Bank leadership. The Economist will actively engage with the academic literature and policy discussions related to selected labor market institutions. The Economist will help develop partnerships with researchers and policymakers to expand CDE’s capability to provide useful research insights.
