The Department of Economics within Newcastle University Business School has over 35 full-time research and teaching staff. We are a collegiate and generalist department with expertise in all areas of economics. We deliver teaching and learning of the highest quality and attract high qualified students to our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Department members have active funded projects in a range of different areas including the Creative Industries, Education, Development, Energy, Environmental, and Rural Economics. The Department has a long tradition in informing public sector policy formation and also hosts a state-of-the-art Behavioural Research Laboratory.

The Department is expanding and has recently appointed several lecturers, a reader and a named chair. We now have a further position, at either lecturer or senior lecturer level, and we invite applications from strong candidates, committed to collegiately, with expertise in behavioural / experimental economics.

You will hold, or be close to obtaining, a relevant PhD and will be able to demonstrate a capacity to publish in journals of international standing. You will have: (i) A clear and viable strategy for sustained future research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications; and (ii) the ability to teach economics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
