The Economic Research Service (ERS), United States Department of Agriculture, anticipates having multiple positions available for applicants with strong research skills. The ERS mission is to inform and enhance public and private decision making on economic and policy issues related to agriculture, food, the environment, and rural development. With over 200 economists, ERS is a primary source of economic information and research for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Nation. ERS economists are responsible for carrying out complex economic research and analysis programs and must have strong technical and writing skills. The ability to relay results to both lay and professional audiences is essential. At ERS you’ll find satisfaction in conducting and publishing rigorous and policy-relevant research on issues that matter in a collaborative and challenging environment.

While ERS will consider all applicants whose interests align with its mission, current recruitment is focused on researchers with expertise applicable to the following topics:
