The Department of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus has a two-year Postdoctoral Associate position in Development Economics and/or Environmental and Natural Resource Economics that could lead to a tenure-track assistant professor position in the department. Applicants with backgrounds that are under-represented in the economics profession will be given priority for this position.

Responsibilities
• Publish research in peer-reviewed journals.
• Develop new research manuscripts to submit for publication.
• Annually teach one full or two half-semester courses in Development Economics or Environmental and Natural Resource Economics.
• Contribute to faculty governance in the department by helping with departmental service.
Required Qualifications
• Ph.D. in agricultural economics, applied economics, business, economics, public policy, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated commitment to advancing and promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, including the ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals with diverse identities and underrepresented groups.
• Evidence of potential to develop an outstanding record of scholarly research in development economics or environmental and natural resource economics.
• Compelling written and oral communication skills for professional and nonprofessional audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong publication record in development economics or environmental and natural resource economics.
• Evidence of potential to initiate and sustain extramurally funded research.
• Evidence of potential for excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching and leadership in academic programs.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a 12-month appointment, with the possibility of converting to a nine-month, tenure-track faculty position after completion. Benefits include employee health, dental, and faculty life/disability insurance.
