The U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Advocacy seeks a Regulatory Economist to join its economic research team in Washington, DC. The Office of Advocacy examines the role and contributions of small businesses in the U.S. economy and advocates for small businesses to federal agencies, Congress, the White House, and the public. The Regulatory Economist will assess small business impact analyses of proposed regulations during interagency review to inform policymaking and produce research products on important small business economic issues for dissemination to small business stakeholders and policymakers. Regulatory Economist responsibilities include: reviewing and analyzing proposed federal regulations with a specific focus on the analysis of small businesses economic impacts under the Regulatory Flexibility Act; Developing comments on proposed regulations, including agencies’ regulatory impact analyses, to identify economic or policy issues relevant to small businesses; Communicating economic analyses to Advocacy leadership, federal agencies, and stakeholders.
