Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Department of Health Policy (DHP) in the School of Medicine seeks two assistant or associate professors in the University Tenure Line or University Medical Line, with expertise in health policy/health services research. The Department of Health Policy is a multidisciplinary group with broad research and education programs in health policy, both domestic and global (https://healthpolicy.fsi.stanford.edu/). DHP is closely affiliated with Stanford’s Center for Health Policy (CHP) in the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and works with multiple departments and Schools throughout the university. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree or an M.D. with substantial research background and/or training in research. Training and expertise should be in an area related to health policy/health services research, such as economics or health economics, decision science, statistics or data science, health law, epidemiology, operations research or management science, implementation science, quality improvement or organizational aspects of health care. A focal area of particular interest to DHP is health equity and disparities. Physician-researchers with expertise in health policy and health services research also are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent research program and to participate in the School of Medicine’s training and teaching programs in health policy.
