The Department of Economics in the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor effective fall 2023, pending available funding. We are particularly interested in the fields of Industrial Organization and Public Economics (including Public Finance), although we will consider strong candidates in any area of Applied Microeconomics. Responsibilities include effectively teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting and publishing quality research, participating in activities of the Department, advising graduate students, fulfilling professional and university service. Additional responsibilities may include teaching in the MBA program.

The Department is an academically diverse, professionally active group of 10 full-time faculty members with research expertise in areas such as applied microeconomics, labor economics, health economics, public economics. development economics, and international economics. There is substantial collaborative research with other entities on and off campus.
