Syracuse University’s Department of Economics invites applications for an opening at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure track) in the area(s) of International Trade and/or Economic Development. While all applicants specializing in trade or development will be considered for this position, preference will be given to those working at the interface of international trade and economic development. Ideally, the successful candidate would be someone who does high-quality empirical work in international trade and/or economic development, with strong theoretical foundations.

Candidates must have completed (or expect to complete prior to appointment) a Ph.D. in Economics or related field. We seek a strong researcher with the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in international trade and/or development economics, and to advise doctoral students. Candidates with experience should have a strong record of scholarly achievement, including publishing in core peer reviewed economics journals.

We seek candidates who have interdisciplinary interests that complement the broader mission of the Maxwell School and the broader University interests in this area.
