Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Williams College Economics Department invites applications for two tenure-track positions in macroeconomics, potentially at the senior level, to begin July 1, 2023. One of the positions is open to any subfield within macroeconomics. For the other position, we are particularly seeking candidates whose work relates to macroeconomic stabilization in emerging and developing economies. Candidates for the second position should be interested in playing an active role at Williams’ Center for Development Economics (https://cde.williams.edu/), which offers an M.A. in Policy Economics for economists from low and middle-income countries who have some practical policy experience. We seek candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their scholarship, teaching and service; and we especially encourage applications from members of historically underrepresented groups in the field. Candidates should have a Ph.D., or all requirements for the Ph.D. degree, completed by September 2023.

We are a department of active scholars (https://econ.williams.edu/) and currently have 26 tenured or tenure-track faculty members. Williams College is a liberal arts institution located in the Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts. The college has built its reputation on outstanding teaching and scholarship and on the academic excellence of its approximately 2,000 students. Please visit the Williams College website (http://www.williams.edu). Beyond meeting fully its legal obligations for non-discrimination, Williams College is committed to building a diverse and inclusive community where members from all backgrounds can live, learn, and thrive.

Questions regarding the search may be directed to Professor Jon Bakija, Chair, Department of Economics, jbakija@williams.edu.

All offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background check. Further information is available at: http://dean-faculty.williams.edu/prospective-faculty/background-check-policy/.
