The Fellow is specialized in the field of Political Economy with a focus on the Indo-Pacific region (e.g. economic integration, supply chains, technology security and innovation). The Fellow will conduct scholarly and policy-relevant research and publish in scholarly, professional, and media platforms (including EWC publications), develop and seek funding for policy-relevant collaborative projects, and contribute to cross-EWC educational, professional development, and leadership exchanges by providing expertise through briefings, supervision, lectures and other engagements.

Major Duties:
The Fellow will conduct research and write for academic, professional, and media publications, including EWC publications; participate in the dissemination of research findings to policy makers, professional colleagues, and the public via seminars, conferences, and other engagements; as well as design and seek external funding for collaborative projects that contribute to the understanding, management, and resolution of key Indo-Pacific political economy issues.

This position will also contribute to cross-EWC educational, professional development, and leadership exchanges by providing expertise in the form of briefings and other engagements; plan, organize, conduct, and participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences to exchange knowledge, experience, and research results; and contribute to EWC programs and committees as requested and/or assigned.

Supervision:
Supervision is provided by the Research Coordinator. Tasks are discussed and jointly planned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in political economy or related field from an accredited college or university with research and other experience in the Indo-Pacific region. A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a transdisciplinary team in cooperative, cross-cultural, transdisciplinary endeavors. Candidates should show a record of research achievement commensurate with their time in their field of study with capacity in analytical and policy-relevant research. Excellent communication skills in the English language demonstrating the ability to communicate results and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to academic as well as informed policy, public, and private-sector audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed research about political economy issues in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. Ability to speak a regional language; capacity to bridge educational, research, professional training, and business expertise to resolve political, social, economic, and environmental issues, realizing that success normally requires multiple sectors to work constructively together.

Salary:
$90,249.62 per year which includes a cost-of-living allowance (COLA) currently at 9.75% (subject to change annually) and an attractive total compensation package.
