The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is hiring a Chief with responsibility for prominent consumer research initiatives, supporting the development of research targeted for publication in peer-reviewed journals, and maintaining relationships with the independent research community. The Chief will oversee a number of critical work streams, including national surveys related to economic inclusion topics and a well-established Annual Consumer Research Symposium. The Chief will also serve as an expert, participating in senior level briefings and external communications on behalf of the agency. The Chief will manage a team of economists, analysts and supporting positions, with responsibility for promoting their work and the FDIC’s consumer research program. The ideal candidate will have a track record of published research in official government publications or peer-reviewed journals, excellent communication and writing skills, and experience leading a high-performing team. Collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders and the ability to identify research opportunities that advance knowledge on important issues relevant to the responsibilities of the FDIC will be key components of the role. The FDIC is an independent agency created by Congress to maintain stability and public confidence in the nation's financial system.
