The Department of Economics at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for

Postdoctoral Researcher to contribute to an ongoing innovative research project on occupational choice. The position is full-time calendar year and will be funded by the Charles N. Mathewson endowed professorship in Entrepreneurship. The starting date is negotiable but is expected to be August 2022.

The postdoctoral researcher will work with Professors Frank Fossen and Sankar Mukhopadhyay and additional collaborators to further develop, program, and estimate a dynamic structural microeconometric model of the choice between paid employment and different types of entrepreneurship. The goal is to advance the understanding of entrepreneurial choice by producing a joint research paper.

In addition, the postdoctoral researcher is encouraged to pursue her or his own independent research agenda, ideally creating synergies.

Qualified applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in economics or a closely related discipline by the time of the position’s start and experience in dynamic structural microeconometric estimation and programming. In particular, experience with Fortran programming is required.
