Full Text of JOE Listing:

The FAA seeks economists (GS-12/13-equivalent or H-I-Band) to join the Economic Analysis Division (APO-300) within the Office of Aviation Policy and Plans. The current team of over a dozen economists is responsible for conducting regulatory impact analyses, cost-benefit, and other economic analyses of FAA regulatory and policy initiatives. Working in a collegial team environment with engineers and attorneys, economists apply their analytical and quantitative skills to rulemakings, perform quantitative, statistical, and risk analyses; and industry profile studies. Our products help government decision-makers and the public assess the impact of regulatory actions. Economists also have the opportunity to publish papers and conduct independent research related to aerospace and aviation industries. In addition, APO-300 maintains a seminar series.

We offer workplace flexibility and a family-friendly environment. We welcome and encourage economists with advanced degrees in all fields of applied microeconomics and industrial organization who communicate well and who enjoy working with a team of economists in a multi-disciplinary environment. Experience with the aerospace and aviation industries or regulatory economics is not required.
