The College of Management of Technology (CDM) at EPFL invites applications for a faculty position in Management Science and Engineering, with an emphasis on Sustainability Metrics & Systems. The appointment will be at the Tenure Track level (in exceptional cases, appointments at other ranks might be considered), with an expected start date of September 2022 (or mutually agreed upon).

We are searching for applicants who are committed to excellence in research, teaching and outreach. Successful candidates work at the intersection of management science and engineering, with a strong research agenda that addresses sustainability systems and technologies, performance and cost metrics. They have the ability to leverage EPFL’s strengths in management, basic and computer sciences, and engineering. Examples of research areas include, but are not restricted to, ESG ratings, social cost of carbon, emission tracking, or urban energy systems.

A doctorate will be required at the starting date. The candidate is expected to develop an independent and competitive research program in a multidisciplinary environment. He/she will supervise their own PhD students and engage with researchers in related fields across the EPFL campus, particularly within CDM, and from neighboring Leman area institutes via the E4S initiative. The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and contribute to CDM’s new education programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
