The Survey Research Center within the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research is seeking an economist at the rank of Research Associate Professor or Research Professor to join the leadership of the research program responsible for the Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID). PSID is the world’s longest household panel study. The PSID team provides substantive and methodological leadership in the design and collection of data for multidisciplinary social science research.

We are seeking exceptional leadership skills and demonstrated commitment to scientific excellence. The candidate must have a proven track record of scholarly achievement and securing competitive external research funding. The ideal candidate will be a scientific leader in the field of economics, or a closely-related social or policy science discipline, with a history of interdisciplinary collaborations. The candidate is expected to have a successful record of obtaining external grant funding to support innovative data collection and analysis. Prior experience managing survey design, fieldwork, web-based data collection, administrative linkages, or other aspects of data production and dissemination are highly desirable.

A joint appointment with an appropriate department at the University of Michigan is possible.
