The Department of Economics is seeking applicants for a position of a Visiting Assistant Professor (two-year appointment), beginning in August 2022.

The teaching load is four classes per semester and the assignment includes teaching core courses for the Economics major, as well as introductory courses for non-majors that contribute to the college’s general education program, and, possibly, courses for the evening program in the Hamilton Holt School.

The Department offers a unique program that considers economic behavior in economic history and alternative economic perspectives, along with traditional economic analysis.

The successful candidates should practice inclusive and engaged pedagogy; have teaching interests that incorporate alternative conceptual and ideological perspectives and are willing to teach Alternative Economic Perspective and Economics in Historical Perspectives courses.

Minimum Qualifications and Education:

• Ph.D. preferred but ABD will be considered
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching in the liberal arts at the instructor level or above for one
or more semesters
