Monmouth College, a private, residential liberal arts college in Illinois, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, assistant or associate professor position in business, with preference for expertise in Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and/or Marketing to begin August 2022.

We are seeking a colleague interested in working closely with students and providing academic and professional mentoring. The ideal candidate will be an excellent educator eager to teach a range of business courses, including Marketing and capstone courses. Successful candidates will be committed to undergraduate teaching excellence, undergraduate research, scholarship, and the College’s liberal arts mission. An appreciation for the small college learning environment is essential. The position provides opportunity for interdisciplinary, community engagement, contributions to faculty governance, and leadership roles in the department and the college.

We will consider any business field, including international business, entrepreneurship, management, marketing, or strategy. D.B.A. or Ph.D. preferred but we are willing to consider other appropriate academic and professional qualifications as well as an M.B.A. with business leadership experience.

Monmouth College’s statement of values affirms that we “foster diversity in our curriculum, our community, and beyond, committing ourselves to confronting injustice and building more equitable and inclusive practices, policies, and systems.” Candidates who can make significant contributions to this end are especially encouraged to apply.

To apply, please send 1) a letter of application, 2) curriculum vitae, and 3) names of three professional references (a request for letters or permission to contact references will be made at a later stage in the search). In the cover letter, candidates should include a statement of their teaching philosophy and indicate ways that they would support and contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion at Monmouth College.
