Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Yale Research Initiative on Innovation & Scale (Y-RISE) seeks to appoint a postdoctoral Associate starting AY 2022-2023 or earlier, with a possibility of renewal for up to 3 years, conditional on availability of funding as well as satisfactory progress and performance. Candidates must have research and training experience in social sciences or public policy.

This fellowship will focus on developing a research and policy agenda focused on the complexities that arise when taking development interventions to scale. With the complexities of scale as a central interest, research and policy activities may span a broad range of topics in development economics such as small and medium enterprise development; migrant integration and livelihoods; rural electrification; health services and behavior change. The successful candidate will work closely with Ahmed Mushfiq Mobarak and his research team at Y-RISE.

The responsibilities in this position could include, but are not limited to:

-Developing and conducting new research projects in partnership with Y-RISE
-Teaching two courses each year

Qualifications

-A Ph.D. in economics, public policy, or other quantitative social science disciplines such as political science, demography by the time of appointment.
-Attention to detail and advanced writing and presentation skills for communicating policy lessons.
