Tenure Track Positions in Economics and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning

The Department of Economics in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is part of the search for multiple open-rank, tenure track positions at the intersections of Economics and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) to begin Fall 2022.
Ideal candidates for an Economics-AI/ML position will be distinguished Economics scholars who are at the cutting edge of collaborative scholarship with AI/ML researchers, as well as have the capacity to contribute to the Economics Department’s broader commitments to quantitative modeling and data analytics of economic phenomenon.

Applicants for senior tenured positions must possess an outstanding record of research accomplishment and a strong commitment to teaching. Applicants for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions must show evidence of both emerging research distinction and a high level of dedication to teaching.

The Economics Department has a diversity of faculty engaged in disciplinary and interdisciplinary research. Areas include health economics, econometrics and quantitative modeling, behavioral economics, experimental economics, economics of innovation and technology, and international economics. The Department of Economics currently offers undergraduate and M.S. degrees.
The Economics research areas of interest for this Rensselaer-wide cluster hire include:
• Econometrics, Statistical Methods, Quantitative Modeling
• Mathematical Methods, Programming Models, Mathematical and Simulation Modeling

At the time of appointment applicants must have a PhD, EdD, or foreign degree equivalent in an appropriate field for their proposed research, and the ability to demonstrate, through their records, promise of future distinction in scholarship and education.
