Description

The Department of Economics at Stony Brook University has an opening for an Assistant Professor of Economics with an expected starting date of Fall 2022.

The ideal candidate should be prepared to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and participate in service at the department and university levels while dedicating a considerable proportion of the time to research.

We want to attract an Applied Economist with interest in any of the applied fields, such as Labor Economics, Health Economics, Industrial Organization, Applied Econometrics, Economic Development, Environmental Economics, Public Economics, Urban Economics, Demographic Economics, Financial Economics, etc. Advanced assistant professors are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Economics at the start of the position, demonstrate a research record, and have an excellent teaching record or demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching at the undergraduate level, experience teaching at the graduate level, and submitted or published papers in internationally ranked journals in Economics.
