Loyola University New Orleans invites applications for the Endowed Chair of Ethics and Faculty Director of the Center for Ethics and Economic Justice. The position is open rank and commensurable to experience.

The Center for Ethics and Economic Justice fulfills its mission through the establishment of a home and network for business leaders, academic leaders, religious leaders, and community and political leaders in general, to focus on the search for renewed ethical norms to guide the evolving economic and financial relationships of the post-modern era. A special effort is made to bring a variety of religious traditions to bear on the traditional functions and roles of the financial corporation. Because of its Catholic identity, its Jesuit academic tradition, its ecumenical approach, and its present leadership, the Loyola Center for Ethics and Economic Justice is uniquely poised to play this role. The Center will significantly improve the standing of the business school and the university, both locally and nationally, as a locus for academic excellence, as the inspiration for ethical leadership, and as the home for spiritual and cultural revitalization.

** Primary Responsibilities **
Reporting to the Dean of the College of Business.
Commitment as Endowed Chair of Ethics:
• to teaching excellence, care of students and an annual teaching load established in consultation with the CoB Dean.
• to maintaining a national reputation in academia through research productivity contributing to the scholarly body of knowledge in a field of business and a publication record to warrant tenure at the rank of full professor in the CoB.
• to contributing service to the department, the college and the university.

As Faculty Director of the Center for Ethics and Economic Justice
• Elevate the visibility of the Ethics Chair, by developing the goals and design for Center of Ethics and Economic Justice that fosters an engaged community of learners through the creation of a distinctive Ethics related undergraduate experience that integrates academic and student life in an ethos of Roman Catholicism.
• Provide leadership for public lectures, symposia, and other related programs to enhance the intellectual life of the University.
• Work in close collaboration with faculty and students, Dean of the College of Business, Alumni and Corporate partners to support the work of the Center.
• Teach at least one course per semester as assigned by the Area Coordinator in consultation with the Associate Dean and the Dean of the College of Business.
• While not required, the CoB is particularly interested in candidates with experience and/or interest in managing an ESG SMIF (environmental, social, and governance student managed investment fund).

Qualifications
• An understanding of the goals and values of a Jesuit education;
• Terminal degree;
• Extensive record of scholarly excellence;
• Evidence of effective teaching experience;
• A commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
