The Lewin Group seeks PhD economists to conduct rigorous empirical research on the most current policy issues surrounding health care reform. Applicants are sought at all experience levels.

We are a national health and human services consulting firm with over 250 professional staff and offices in the DC metro area and Minnesota. Options for telework are also available. We work with the Federal government, States, Foundations and private clients to design, implement and evaluate programs that improve the organization, payment and delivery of health care services.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team and will have the opportunity to conduct policy analyses and evaluate programs using sound economic reasoning and advanced empirical methods. Success requires ingenuity and the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences. Primary Responsibilities:
Design and conduct studies that require advanced economic and empirical methods or mixed quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods
Supervise research staff, ensuring that all projects are conducted effectively, with sound methods
Draft research reports, interpret and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
Support technical proposal writing
Serve as a resource to other staff in methodological or health care policy areas

 Requirements: 
• PhD in Economics, Public Policy, Health Services Research or related field by Fall 2022
• Demonstrated quantitative research skills in applied microeconomics, labor economics, applied econometrics, health policy, program evaluation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Intellectual curiosity
• Experience analyzing health care data and solid working knowledge of US healthcare system and institutions
• Applicants for Senior positions must demonstrate experience in technical and project leadership
