The Department of Economics, Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Queen’s University invites applications for the David Chadwick Smith Chair in Economics, with a preferred starting date of July 1, 2022. Qualified applicants in all fields of economics are invited to apply.

The appointment will be at the Associate or Full Professor level. Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent degree and are required to provide evidence of academic and teaching excellence. The successful candidate will have a distinguished record of both scholarly publications and supervision of graduate students and will provide evidence of success in the securing of external research funding, substantial teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and an ongoing commitment to academic and pedagogical excellence in support of the department’s programs. Candidates must provide evidence of an ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary and student-centred environment and will also be expected to make contributions through service to the department, the Faculty, the University, and/or the broader community. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
