Applications are invited to apply for one tenure-track position in Economics at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related field by the beginning of Fall 2022. Applicants specializing in Empirical Microeconomics as applied to Health Economics, Labor Economics, Industrial Organization, Development Economics, or Environmental Economics are preferred. Outstanding candidates in other fields will also be considered. The candidate is expected to teach Econometrics and upper-level electives in their field in addition to core economics classes. Experience of teaching Economics in higher education in a culturally diverse setting is strongly preferred. We are a Hispanic-serving institution located in South Texas near the US-Mexico border.
The Robert C. Vackar College of Business and Entrepreneurship is AACSB-accredited at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and offers a Ph.D. in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Management, and Marketing. The candidate will be expected to teach at the PhD level, including classes for a new doctoral concentration in Business Economics that is currently being proposed. Ability to teach Econometrics at the graduate level is a plus.
