Position
The Department of Economics at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a position in the field of environmental economics beginning Fall, AY2022-23. The position is open to candidates at the rank of assistant (tenure-track) or associate (tenured) professor. The appointee will teach interdisciplinary courses in environmental economics that would fulfill requirements for students majoring in Sustainability Studies and/or Economics. The appointee is expected to engage in high quality research/scholarly activities, be an effective instructor at the graduate and undergraduate levels, direct graduate research, and exhibit a commitment to service to the department, college, and university.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or expect it by August 2022 for tenure-track positions; applicants for tenured positions must hold a Ph.D. and have a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching.
The department is interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching, research and service. Applicants may submit a statement describing how their experience would help them make such a contribution using examples from research, methodological and pedagogical approaches, teaching content, mentoring and recruiting activities, community engagement, interdisciplinary collaborations, or experiences working with underrepresented communities on and off campus.
