The Department of Economics of the Faculty of Social Sciences is inviting applications for the position of Full/Associate Professor in Economics. The Department of Economics is a growing academic unit with excellent prospects whose goal is to excel in economic learning and research. The department currently offers a wide range of courses leading to B.Soc.Sc, M.Soc.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. Faculty members actively engage in research with particular focus on macroeconomics, microeconomic theory, public economics, applied econometrics, and economic growth. The department is highly recognized among universities in the region, evident by some recent ranking exercises. Qualifications
Applicants must hold a PhD degree in economics or an equivalent discipline, and a demonstrable record of excellence in research and teaching at university level. We warmly welcome applicants from all subfields of economics, but we are especially interested in candidates who specialize in econometrics. While applicants must be fluent in English, ability to speak Chinese may be considered an asset, though it is not a prerequisite for the appointment.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty by August 2022.

Remuneration
A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,019,200 (approximately USD125,830) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
