Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Institute for Policy Integrity at New York University School of Law (policyintegrity.org) is seeking an experienced, policy-oriented PhD economist with 3–4 years of relevant work experience.

Policy Integrity is a non-partisan think tank dedicated to improving the quality of government decisionmaking through advocacy and scholarship in the fields of administrative law, economics, and public policy. We work to identify and support economically sound policies related to energy, the environment, public health, and safety.

The economist will collaborate with legal and economic researchers to prepare policy reports, comments in regulatory proceedings, and journal articles on a variety of issues including energy, transportation, and climate policy, natural resources management, and benefit-cost analysis. The ideal candidate should have a focus on policy-oriented research in one of the following areas: (1) environmental or resource economics; (2) transportation and vehicle emissions policy; or (3) non-market valuation. Excellent written communication skills required.

Policy Integrity research appointments are for 12 months, with regularly occurring extensions upon mutual agreement. Salary and benefits are competitive. Economists will have the opportunity to engage in independent research and access scholar forums at NYU. Adjunct teaching opportunities are also possible.
