Microeconomic Theory

The Economics and Econometrics stream within the Department of Economics invites applications for a full-time tenure-track / probationary appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Microeconomic Theory. Candidates must hold a PhD in Economics or be near completion and demonstrate potential of excellence in teaching, research and advising. Responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate teaching in one or more delivery modes, supervision, preparation of PhD field exam, service, and building a productive research program.

The appointment may begin on or after July 1, 2022. The salary for the position will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the chosen candidate.

The Economics Department is a research-intensive environment with 580 undergraduate majors, and active MA and PhD programs. The University of Manitoba is the province’s largest, most comprehensive post-secondary educational institution. More than 30,000 students study in a wide range of programs. Research is a priority, and the success of the University of Manitoba faculty in securing substantial research support in national and international competitions attests to this fact.

Winnipeg, a city of over 800,000, offers a vibrant arts community, professional sports teams, affordable housing, diverse cultural institutions, festivals, and entertainment possibilities.
