Job Announcement
The College of Business Administration at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for Director of the newly created Center for Free Enterprise, click link. The Director will have a faculty appointment at either the Associate or Professor rank with tenure contingent on academic qualifications. The Center’s mission is rooted in economics and its role within a free enterprise system to foster innovation and entrepreneurship that addresses economic disparities and social mobility. The Director will oversee the Center’s educational programming, research efforts, and community outreach in fulfilling the Center’s mission. The Director will be responsible for leading the search to hire an additional faculty member and a staff member. The Director will also work closely with the Dean and the development staff to expand the Center’s resource base. While the Director will have some teaching responsibilities, the majority of their time will be dedicated to Center activities. Though candidates from all fields are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those candidates whose fields and experience best align with the Center’s mission. The expected start date is September 1, 2022. Salary and benefits are AACSB-competitive and appropriate for experience and qualifications. Hiring decisions are subject to final budgetary approval.

Required Qualifications
Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in Economics with publications in high-quality journals and evidence of quality instruction. Candidates must also demonstrate how their experience and interest aligns with providing leadership to the Center. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with a diverse audience of stakeholders.
