The Department of Economics invites applications for a non-tenure track, one-year position at visiting assistant professor rank, beginning in the fall of 2021. Applicants must possess a strong desire to teach and pursue research in a liberal arts environment in a department with a reputation for excellent teaching. The successful candidate will teach both required and elective courses. The ideal candidate will be able to teach courses in applied microeconomics. The areas of economics of income inequality and poverty, economic history, and economic geography are especially welcome. The college offers excellent research support to non-tenure-track faculty. The standard teaching load is 5 courses per year, normally with 2 – 3 preps. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Economics, although advanced ABDs may be considered. We encourage applications from women and historically under-represented groups as well as individuals who have experience in teaching in a multi-cultural classroom. The college is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching and scholarship.
