Applications Due: The position will be open until filled.

The Department of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health has an opening for two research faculty positions in the Hopkins Business of Health Initiative (HBHI). HBHI is a University-wide initiative integrating research, practice, and policy across Hopkins’ leading schools of business, public health, nursing, and medicine to advance the scholarship at Johns Hopkins University to understand health care inefficiencies and improve the productivity of the US health system.

This position is open rank on the non-professorial track. A PhD is preferred. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The positions include a combination of administrative and scholarly activities and requires coordination with investigators and staff from multiple departments and divisions across the University.

We welcome applications from those with expertise in the fields of health economics, health services research, health policy, or health care management. The successful candidate will exhibit potential for a distinguished record of scholarship aligned with the agenda of HBHI.

One position is an associate managing director where administrative activities involve the coordination of efforts between the variety of research projects aligned with HBHI organizational goals. In addition to the opportunities for collaboration on various projects, activities include tracking multiple project teams, ensuring program goals are reached; managing budget and funding channels; maintaining organizational standards; and cultivating relationships with external partners to advance our impact through policy and practice.

The second position is an associate data director with responsibilities to administrate the HBHI data hub, a university-wide data infrastructure and service center housing Medicare claims and, eventually, many other data resources and provide a platform for data-driven research collaborations. The role will have both operational and strategic responsibilities. Operational responsibilities will include managing data assets, processing data requests, monitoring data hub budget, and assisting junior investigators through trainings and preliminary data runs. Strategic responsibilities will include assisting with developing and implementing plans for growth and sustainability of the HBHI data hub and prioritizing purchases to grow data hub resources.
