The Department of Economics and Finance in the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics at the University of Guelph invites applications from candidates with research and teaching expertise in finance for a position at the Assistant (tenure-track) or Associate Professor level. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2021. Candidates will hold, or will have nearly completed, a Ph.D. in finance, economics or related field, with the requirement that they be able to demonstrate that they will establish themselves as recognized scholars, producing internationally recognized research, and be good teachers at all levels.

The Department of Economics and Finance (https://www.uoguelph.ca/economics/) is a research-intensive academic unit consisting of 26 faculty members, and offers a range of academic programs leading to the degrees: BA, BComm, MA, and PhD. The Department is also an integral part of the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics at the University of Guelph. The School delivers one of the largest undergraduate business programs in Ontario with over 4,000 students currently enrolled, and offers a wide range of specialized programs in business and economics across undergraduate, graduate, and professional education. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent research program; produce research with impact that will be funded by federal granting agencies; and have the pedagogic ability to teach and supervise both undergraduate and graduate students.
