The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) anticipates filling a Ph.D. level economist position in the National Accounts Research Group with experience in input-output accounting and modeling.

BEA’s mission is to promote a better understanding of the U.S. economy by providing the most timely, relevant, and accurate economic accounts data. To achieve our mission objectives, we need highly qualified economists and other professionals equipped to develop new and innovative approaches to economic measurement that keep pace with the dynamic economy.

The candidate will conduct collaborative and/or independent research on construction, measurement, and compilation of input-output accounts, supply-use tables, and trade in value-added indicators, including possible development of a general equilibrium model. The candidate will also support the development of a staff training program on the supply-use framework. The candidate will be expected to present the research at conferences and other forums as well as work to implement the research in the U.S. accounts.
