Loyola University Chicago invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track endowed position at the rank of Assistant Professor/Advanced Assistant Professor, beginning fall 2021.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in economics, agricultural economics, applied economics, ecological economics, resource economics, public policy, or a closely related field, an active research agenda addressing contemporary complex and interrelated economic, social and environmental problems, and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching. The successful candidate is expected to develop a nationally renowned research program that leads to high quality journal publications. Teaching responsibilities include two courses per semester, including ecological economics and public economics. Our preferred candidate will conduct empirical research on topics relevant to ecological and public economics, and have experience overcoming or helping others overcome barriers to degree completion or an academic career. The candidate must share Loyola University Chicago’s Jesuit commitment to social justice, care for our common home, and walking with the excluded, ideally evidenced through their research, teaching and/or service. Candidates for the position should have a record of or clear potential for distinguished scholarship, external research funding, and student mentoring.
