The Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics at the University of Chicago invites applications for a non-tenure track Research Assistant Professor. The position will be a three-year, renewable appointment. Applications must be submitted through the University of Chicago’s Interfolio website at: apply.interfolio.com/81756. Applications must include three reference letters, curriculum vitae, research statement and up to three published or unpublished research papers.

The Research Assistant Professor is primarily an independent researcher conducting original research within economics and is expected to stand alone on their scholarly accomplishments, solo- and co-authoring reputable scientific publications. Appointees are expected to make a substantial contribution to that research and may be part of a research group or in association with a faculty member. Appointees are expected to actively interact with a substantial number of faculty and students and regularly participate in academic conferences and workshops. The Research Assistant Professor is expected to have an active role in obtaining and carrying out funded research and serve as a Co-Investigator or Principal Investigator on research grants. Additionally, the Research Assistant Professor will teach one undergraduate class in Economics.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related field and at least three years of postdoctoral experience. They must have demonstrated ability to communicate research findings clearly to audiences through oral presentations and written work.
